Gold&I Jewellery Featured at the Pause Floral Workshops in Paarl

A bouquet and a ring tend to land in the same wedding photograph. In September 2026, a floral workshop in Paarl made that pairing deliberate, with South African jewellery company Gold&I supplying pieces for the bride models.

Floral designer Amanda Theron, founder of Kadou, asked Gold&I founder Stephani Cillié to bring her one-of-a-kind jewellery to the Pause floral workshops. The workshop ran from 15 to 17 September 2026 at Laborie Wine Estate. Photographs from the shoot accompany this article.

This report covers what Pause is, who runs it, how the three days are structured, and where the designer jewellery fitted in.

What Is Pause?

Pause is a floral workshop for florists, held in Paarl in the Western Cape and running since 2020. Its organisers describe it as a curated experience for florists who want to slow down, go deeper and find their creative spark again. Paarl is about 60km from Cape Town, according to the Pause website.

Anli Wahl of Anli Wahl Floral Design and Amanda Theron of Kadou Floral Artistry present the workshops. They met at a flower business workshop in Stellenbosch nine years ago. The Pause website states that over 200 florists have joined across 11 workshops. The September 2026 workshop was Pause 12, and each workshop is limited to 18 students.

Day one covers the principles and elements of design, table flowers and styling, and phone photography. Day two moves to bouquet theory, vessels, tablescapes, freelancing etiquette and client relationships. Day three deals with pricing, installation theory and mechanics, and a group installation build.

The workshop closes with a styled editorial shoot with a photographer. Every student’s work features, and each student receives professional photographs. The wedding jewellery was worn by bride models during this part of the workshop.

The People Behind the Collaboration

Why Jewellery Belongs in a Floral Editorial

A styled shoot puts flowers, gowns, tables and jewellery into one frame, so each choice affects the rest. Pause teaches florists to plan a full wedding world from ceremony to reception, and jewellery is part of that picture on a real wedding day.

A jeweller on set lets florists see their work on a bride. Students watch how metal and stones sit against petals and foliage, and they leave with portfolio photographs showing the complete look.

Flowers and jewellery will share more wedding days, and this one has a photo gallery to show for it.
